Dorothy F. Jackson is an accomplished attorney with more than 34 years of experience representing clients in and out of court and serving communities across Louisiana. Her practice focuses on successions, estate planning, trusts, property disputes, medical malpractice, and personal injury law. For over two decades, Ms. Jackson also dedicated her legal career to elder advocacy and assisting senior citizens.

A respected educator and speaker, Ms. Jackson taught Successions, Trusts, Donations, Matrimonial Regimes, and Elder Law for more than 19 years at Southern University Law Center, where she helped establish and lead the Elder Law Clinic after answering the call from Chancellor B.K. Agnihotri. She has delivered numerous estate-planning presentations since 2009 at churches throughout East Baton Rouge Parish and surrounding areas, at senior centers, and community organizations, educating families on wills, trusts, successions, and powers of attorney.

She hails from Rodessa, Louisiana, and is a graduate of North Caddo High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a Pre-Law emphasis from Louisiana Tech University and her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center. Early in her career, she served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Louisiana Attorney General’s Litigation Division. She also served on the Board of Directors for the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging between 2006 and 2020.

In 2021, Attorney Jackson returned home to Vivian, Louisiana, and opened D.F. Jackson and Associates, L.L.C. In April 2025, she partnered with former law student Brittany M. Young to form Jackson & Young Law Group, LLC.

Inspired by her parents and grandparents, Attorney Jackson remains deeply committed to combating social injustice through both advocacy and community education. She is married to Danielle Jackson and is the proud mother and stepmother of two adult sons, Jeremy Jackson and Fabian Blache IV. Outside of the practice of law, she enjoys gardening, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
